In 1994, after capturing every state title and a regional championship in Lake Placid, NY, Dock was bestowed with the distinction of being named New Jersey Amateur Boxer of the Year. That same year he was inducted into New Jersey's Boxing Hall of Fame.
September 9, 1997 was a defining moment for Dock, he won his first professional career fight. This win, a four round decision, was aired on the USA Television Network. After this win, Dock shifted his sights from fighting to officiating. In 1998 he became an amateur official for the state of New Jersey.
As a standout and accomplished referee Dock represented the state of New Jersey in regional and national tournaments. In 2003, he became licensed as a New Jersey State Professional Referee under the tutelage of world renowned State Athletic Commissioner and Hall of Fame Referee Larry Hazzard Sr. In 2005, Dock officiated his first live bout which aired on ESPN2. HD Promotions was officially launched on November 19, 2008 with Newark based fighters Jerson Ravelo, a 2000 Olympian and undefeated prospect Michael Torres (12-0); both were victorious against their respective opponents. Both boxers have established themselves through the amateur ranks representing boxing clubs in Newark, NJ. The heavily attended event also served as the professional debut of referee Sanford Ricks and several new fighters; legendary trainer Lou Duva, HBO's Harold Ledderman, his daughter, boxing judge Julie, as well as lightheavyweight contender Shaun George were just a few spotted at ringside.
Dock's launch was fully supported by the boxing community because of his professional reputation and embraced by young people who saw themselves in him.
